Brazil workshop: Law enforcement and the prevention and treatment for HIV / AIDS associated with drug use

 

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) will hold, the “Law enforcement and the prevention and treatment for HIV / AIDS associated with drug use” workshop on September, 25 and 26,  in the city of Manaus-AM -a joint initiative of the UN System in the Amazonas State under the Integrated Plan on HIV / AIDS (Amazonaids), Brazil.

The workshop is meant to be a space for dialogue between representatives of public security, law enforcement officers, the civil society organizations and LEAHN – Law Enforcement and HIV Network.

It also aims to discuss and share experiences on facing problems with law enforcement, stigma and discrimination to the strengthening of the Brazilian response to HIV in the Amazon region.

Current and former law enforcement officials can join 10,000 colleagues worldwide and sign the LEAHN Statement of Support for Harm Reduction here: Portuguese / English
