100 police and HIV experts convened in Amsterdam on the 4th of October, 2014.
The meeting, co-convened by LEAHN, IDLO and Birkbeck Law School aimed to a) share information on current initiatives and emerging best practices in police partnership in the response to HIV, including harm reduction approaches, and b) identify recommendations for future action to build police capacity to respond in partnership to HIV, and support related national and regional initiatives
The Consultation produced the Amsterdam Declaration – developed by participants to endorse and propel action towards establishing partnerships with police to accelerate the HIV response.
